PhD Thesis

A PhD thesis is a paper portraying original, independent research which is substantial. The purpose of the graduate thesis is to prove that you have made an original and useful contribution to knowledge. It shows ones knowledge in a scholarly field. As it is the main focus on which a dissertation is written, it follows that a specific format should be followed to give a systemic comprehensive report. There is always a problem for solving, an assertion to be argued and the main question to be answered portrayed in a thesis. The PhD thesis usually begins with a pithy quote, after which there will be acknowledgements, then the various tables of contents, denoting the page numbers on which the reader may find every section, subsection, sub subsection, figure, table, appendix, footnote, and semicolon in the thesis.
